US CPI data for January exceeded almost all analysts' expectations
before the release of the January CPI in the United States, out of the 73 forecasters surveyed, only 5 believed that the core index would rise by 0.4%. The rest were at 0.3% or less. As for the overall CPI, no one expected it to be 0.5%. All 73 economists' forecasts were at 0.4% or lower. This highlights the negative surprise of this report. (Jinshi)
