Sam Altman: OpenAI will suspend the release of some new versions
Sam Altman, CEO of OpenAI, wrote in a post on X that DeepSeek's R1 model is impressive, especially considering its cost-effectiveness. We will obviously introduce better models, and the emergence of new competitors is indeed exciting. We will pause the release of some new versions. But most importantly, we are pleased to continue our research roadmap and believe that more computing power is needed now more than ever to successfully accomplish our mission. The world will need to use a lot of artificial intelligence, and the emergence of the next generation of models will be amazing.
