Starknet v0.13.3 is expected to go live on the main network this week, Vitalik calls for more EVM aggregation to improve data efficiency
Ethereum Layer 2 network Starknet stated on platform X that the demand for Ethereum blobs is steadily increasing, exceeding the target blob efficiency. We have launched our first solution to this challenge: Starknet v0.13.3. The blob gas on Starknet has now been reduced to one-fifth of its original; it has been launched on the test net and is expected to be online on the main net this week.
In response, Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin commented: "Part of L2 expansion involves Ethereum increasing its blob capacity. Another part is making rollups more data efficient. I'm glad to see Starknet bravely facing this challenge. I also hope to see more Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM) rollups improving data efficiency."
Previous news reported that Starknet plans to implement "Stateless compression" and "Squash-pricing" in version v0.13.3 in order to reduce network costs.
