Foreign Media: Biden may nominate Harris for the position of Chief Justice of the United States Supreme Court
On November 9, according to a report by Newsweek in the United States, a legal analyst from CNN suggested that U.S. Vice President Harris might be nominated for the Supreme Court of the United States. The report stated that Bakari Sellers, who served as a Democratic member of the South Carolina House of Representatives for eight years, said that 70-year-old liberal Justice Sonia Sotomayor could retire from the Supreme Court so President Biden can nominate Harris. Before being elected senator and then vice president, Harris had served as district attorney for San Francisco and Attorney General for California. Although it is uncommon to elect someone without judicial experience into the Supreme Court, it is not unprecedented. Bakari Sellers believes this move may be hastily made before Donald Trump takes office after winning the US presidential election; he also stated: "I think this is actually a good plan., I believe it will happen."
