Cronos Labs adds Google Cloud as node operator and partner
Cronos Labs has expanded its collaboration with Google Cloud by appointing the tech giant as a validator node operator for its blockchain ecosystem.
According to a press release, this partnership goes beyond Google Cloud's existing support for Cronos’ accelerator program.
The cloud provider will now play a significant role in the Cronos (CRYPTO:CRO) ecosystem's development, enhancing its blockchain infrastructure with advanced security and reliability.
Google Cloud will also serve as the primary cloud services provider for Cronos, facilitating the intersection of blockchain and AI technologies.
"First, it enhances the security and reliability of the whole network. Second, it makes the Cronos Accelerator program even more appealing to startups. Finally, it opens the door to the creation of a new generation of innovative decentralised applications using Google Cloud’s data processing, computing, and AI capabilities," said Ken Timsit, managing director at Cronos Labs.
This strategic move introduces Google Cloud as part of Cronos’ 32-node validator network on its Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM) protocol, aiming to boost developer adoption and foster innovation.
The partnership aligns with Cronos’ goal to engage with open-source contributors with solid technical expertise.
Existing ecosystem partners include Crypto.com, Blockdaemon, and Ubisoft.
"Google Cloud is strengthening its commitment to Web3 by joining the Cronos ecosystem as a validator node operator. Google Cloud will also collaborate with Cronos to provide developers with the resources they need to build the next generation of decentralised applications, leveraging Google Cloud’s secure infrastructure, advanced AI capabilities, and powerful data analytics tools," stated Rishi Ramchandani, Head of Web3 APAC at Google Cloud.
To encourage practical engagement with AI and blockchain, Cronos Labs and Google Cloud plan to co-host virtual hackathons, providing developers with opportunities to explore innovative solutions at the intersection of these technologies.
At the time of reporting, the Cronos price was $0.09084.
