Silent Hill 2 Remake receives its first major update. The developer company, Bloober Team has addressed several major bugs and issues in the gameplay. The overall performance of the classic horror title has been improved.

In its first major patch includes the fix for the issue during the Abstract Daddy boss fight. In this fight, the enemy failed to hit James, the protagonist accurately. Furthermore, the issue with the Spider Mannequins has been dealt with. In addition, the bug humorously caused James to teleport through the Brookhaven Hospital peephole.

Picking up items in the final boss fight is also made easier in the new patch.

The new update also brings about technical improvements

Using the latest version of Nnividia DLSS on PC while also adding DLSS Frame Generation support while using DLSS for supersampling, the new update has reduced visual glitches.

Furthermore, it also supports AMD FSR 3.1.1 so the players playing the game on Steam Deck can have an improved performance ahead.

The update allows us to save the graphic settings locally while also solving the stuttering issues related to sky map generation.

Despite the doubts Silent Hill 2 remake is a proven success

Released at the start of October, Silent Hill 2 has become a hit among its base long-term fans while also attracting newcomers. It has proven the potential for future remakes. The Bloober team is looking forward to remaking more of Silent Hill’s parts.

In the first three days following its release, Silent Hill 2 Remake had sold over 1 million copies. However, the fans of the original version were doubtful about it because the 2001 release was created by Konami’s Team Silent. It was also considered one of the best games to exist by many players.

These doubts have been proven wrong since the remake is recommended by 94% of the critics on OpenCrtics and the sales count is ascending with every passing day.

In a conversation with Gamespot the Silent Hill 2 remake developers also said that they are done making “shitty” games acknowledging the criticism of previous games.

Therefore the company seems dedicated to bringing up new titles that could match the level of Silent Hill 2 or more. They have recently announced a new game, Cronos: The New Dawn , set to release in 2025.
