The Ethereum community officially adopts ERC-3643 as a compliant asset tokenization standard
The Ethereum community has officially signed the Ethereum Improvement Proposal (EIP) ERC-3643, establishing it as the recognized standard for tokenization of real-world assets (RWA). The proposal has reached its final state, meaning that it has been formally reviewed, discussed, and agreed upon within the Ethereum community, similar to the process of establishing ERC-20 and other standards in the past.
It is reported that ERC-3643 is a standard for tokenization of securities, RWA, payment systems, and loyalty programs. The association behind the proposal explains that it verifies the eligibility of users to receive tokens through a self-sovereign identity (SSI) framework and provides anonymous but verifiable credentials.
